Christmas is one of the happiness times of the year! People gather together with their friends and family and eat endlessly until their hearts are content. However, with all of the joy comes confusion about when businesses are operating. To help you out we have put together a list of dump sites across Auckland and their operating hours, so you know when you can get rid of your rubbish without complication.
WEST AUCKLAND
Waitakere Refuse and Recycling Centre
Address: 50 The Concourse, Henderson, Auckland 0610
What they accept: General rubbish, batteries, computers, paint, fridges, some chemicals – in household quantities at no extra charge. Maximum volume of domestic hazardous waste accepted for free: 20 litres. All chemicals have to be in their original containers.
Not accepted: Hazardous waste such as asbestos, medical waste, lead-based paints, marine anti-fouling pains and bituminous products or waste likely to create excessive dust or particles.
Normal operating hours: Monday to Friday 6am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 8am-4pm
Holiday times: Christmas Eve: 6am-4pm, Closed Christmas day and 1 January 2020.
Patiki Road Transfer Station
Address: 114A Patiki Rd, Avondale Auckland 1026
What they accept: General Rubbish
Normal operating hours: Monday-Friday 6am-6pm, Saturday and Sunday 7am-3:45pm
Holiday times: Closed Christmas
NORTH AUCKLAND
North Shore Refuse and Recycling Transfer Station
Address: 117 Rosedale Road, Rosedale, Auckland 0632
What they accept: General rubbish
Not accepted: Hazardous waste
Normal operating hours: Monday to Saturday: 7am-4:15, Sunday 9am-3:45pm
Holiday times: Christmas Eve: 9am-4pm, Closed Christmas day, Boxing day and New Year’s day.
Constellation Drive Refuse Transfer Station
Address: 4 Home Place, Mairangi Bay, Rosedale, Auckland 0632
What they accept: general rubbish
Normal operating hours: Mon-Fri 6am-6pm; Sat 7am-5pm; Sun 8am-5pm.
Holiday times: Closed Christmas Day.
SOUTH AUCKLAND
Pikes Point Transfer Station
Address: 81 Captain Springs Rd, Onehunga, Auckland 1061
What they accept: General rubbish.
Normal operating hours: Mon-Sat 7am-5pm; Sun 9am-4pm; public holidays 8am-4pm
Holiday times: Closed Christmas Day.
Wiri Refuse and Recycling Transfer Station
Address: Corner Wiri Station Rd and Langley Rd
What they accept: general rubbish and household items/furniture.
Normal operating hours: Mon-Fri 7am-5pm; Sat 8am-2pm; Sun – Closed, public holidays 8am-4pm.
Holiday times: Closed Christmas day and New Year’s.
Heard’s Bark Soil and Compost
Address: 75 Boundary Road
What they accept: general rubbish, green waste and hardfill in commercial quantities.
Normal operating hours: Mon-Fri 8am-5pm; Sat 8am-2pm; Sun closed.
Holiday times: Closed from 23nd December 2019 to 13th January 2020.
Inlet Road Transfer Station
Address: 25 Inlet Road, Takanini, Auckland 2112
What they accept: general rubbish, household items/furniture and recyclables: cardboard, aluminium, food cans, glass bottles and Jars, plastic containers with recycling numbers 1-7.
Normal operating hours: Mon-Sat 8am-4pm; Sunday and public holidays 10.30am-3.30pm
Holiday times: Closed Christmas Day and New Year’s Day.
EAST AUCKLAND
East Tamaki Transfer Station
Address: 33 Neales Road, East Tamaki, Tamaki, Auckland 2013
What they accept: General rubbish, recycling and green waste.
Do not accept: hazardous waste, paints, chemicals, oils, asbestos, thinners, fibrolite, car bodies, tyres, gas cylinders or fridges.
Normal operating hours: Mon-Sat 7.30am-4pm; Sun 9am-3pm
Holiday times: Christmas Eve: 7:30- 4pm, Closed Christmas day until 28th of January 2020.
0800 DUMP ME rubbish removal will be closed on Christmas day until the 6th of January 2020.
